What we do
The Green Building Forum is held on the third Wednesday of each month from January through November from 6:30 - 8 PM and features presentations by green building practitioners followed by discussion. The events arealways free and open to the general public, but space is limited. Please check the events page for the next forum topic.
[Annual New York Green Buildings Open House and Tour]
GreenHomeNYC hosts an annual tour of green buildings in New York City on the first Saturday of October. The event is a part of a regional and national day of open houses.
[Ask an Expert]
First and foremost, the goal of GreenHomeNYC is to get information on green building to those who need it. To this end, we’ve introduced Ask an Expert, an online Q&A archive. If you have a specific question–whether you’re about to embark on a building project, or you just want to learn more–send it to us. We’ll relay the questions to a green building professional and post the answers on our site.
[Green Building House Calls]
Interested in the green building options available for your particular building or renovation project? Want to learn more about the green building movement in general? GreenHomeNYC will come to your coop board or condo association meeting; we’ll come to your office, school, or organization; and we’ll discuss the aspects of green building that are relevant for your particular context or of interest to you. Our “house calls” are to get the word out on green building and are free of charge. Contact us to set up an appointment. We look forward to coming to see
you.
[NYC GreenPages]
We’re currently building our on-line directory of local builders, architects, materials vendors, and other service providers who have expressed an interest in working on green building projects. If your company or organization would like to be included, please let us know.
[Green Building Research]
GreenHomeNYC helps journalists, home owners, students — anyone who asks us — track down information related to green building in New York. If you are a journalist, we ask that you give us as much lead time as possible!
