New Yorkers are all too familiar with the concept of living in small quarters.  However, most would be surprised to find that there are people who do so by choice. In the film TINY, Merete Mueller and Christopher Smith explore the growing trend towards living small by building their own 133 square-foot home and profiling individuals who have downsized to spaces smaller than the average parking spot.

Join the Emerging Professionals for a screening of TINY: A Story About Living Small followed by a lively discussion with Co-director, Merete Mueller, about the financial, environmental, and personal benefits of downsizing and its application to NYC.

FILM SUMMARY

“What is home? And how do we find it? TINY follows one couple’s attempt to build a Tiny House from scratch with no building experience, and profiles other families who have downsized their lives into houses smaller than the average parking space. Through homes stripped down to their essentials, the film raises questions about sustainability, good design, and the changing American Dream.”
