As historic residential communities, Westchester and Rockland Counties face the challenge of managing energy efficiency in the many existing masonry buildings throughout the area. By investing in facade improvements like air sealing, homeowners can enjoy the comfort and financial savings of an efficient historic home.   Join Urban Green Council and the City of Yonkers in learning to identify common residential energy inefficiencies through the energy auditing process. Then, explore the many retrofits and improvements that will ensure the longevity and performance of your home.   SPEAKERS   Ken Levenson | Architect, 475 High Performance Building Supply   Observing the gap between high performance buildings and the US building supply industry, Ken, along with CEO Floris Keverling Buisman, took on the task of establishing 457 in order to supply the US market with carefully selected products that focus on what matters most in high-performance, ecological, low-energy construction: airtightness, ventilation, insulation, fully integrated openings, and a predictably calculated energy balance. Additionally, Ken is a Certified Passive House Designer, a founding board member of the National Passive House Alliance and of the New York Passive House.   Andy Padian | VP for Energy Initiatives, The Community Preservation Corporation   Andy is Vice President for Energy Initiatives for The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC), a not-for-profit affordable housing mortgage lender, where he is working in the implementation of the Green Financing Initiative (GFI) and NYC’s Sandy Recovery Program (Build it Back). He has 30 years of experience in the unique building science of multifamily buildings, and has performed detailed energy analysis on hundreds of buildings across the country. Andy is a frequent contributor to energy and sustainable publications, and has spoken at numerous conferences across the country over the last 30 years.
