The New Sheriffs: CX Agents

October 21, 2015 9:00 - 10:30 AM Commissioning has long been a darling of green building circles, with many examples surfacing of significant improvements from tuning existing systems rather than complicated installations of new equipment technology. A 2009 LBNL study confirmed this anecdotal evidence, finding that commissioning energy systems in existing buildings realize average energy savings of 16%.   While the ASHRAE and IECC energy codes have traditionally been focused only on design requirements, they are not stepping carefully into operations phase with guidance on the primary elements of commissioning, including provisions for HVAC systems, building envelope air tightness and lighting systems.   Join a high level presentation and conversation about the commissioning requirements in the new code, how New York stakeholders are addressing them, and the enforcement process that will be in place to ensure projects are in compliance with these new regulations.   Speakers: Gina Bocra, Chief Sustainability Officer, NYC Department of Buildings Charlie Marino, NY Director of Energy Services, AKF Group Kevin McGrath, Director of Engineering, Boston Properties
