(41 1st Avenue, New York, NY) * Please note that you need to purchase your own tickets – it would be wise to do this ahead of time. What: Join us for a special screening of An Inconvenient Truth Join GreenHome NYC and Solar One for opening day of An Inconvenient Truth, a documentary describing the science behind climate change as well as Al Gore’s work to spread the knowledge. The movie is a great opportunity to enhance your understanding of the science behind global warming. A great showing for opening week will ensure a wider national distribution of the movie. In other words, the more folks who see the movie in NYC, the greater the nationwide distribution will be. According to Al Gore’s website, climatecrisis.net: “Director Davis Guggenheim eloquently weaves the science of global warming with Mr. Gore’s personal history and lifelong commitment to reversing the effects of global climate change. A longtime advocate for the environment, Gore presents a wide array of facts and information in a thoughtful and compelling way. “Al Gore strips his presentations of politics, laying out the facts for the audience to draw their own conclusions in a charming, funny and engaging style, and by the end has everyone on the edge of their seats, gripped by his haunting message,” said Guggenheim. An Inconvenient Truth is not a story of despair but rather a rallying cry to protect the one earth we all share. “It is now clear that we face a deepening global climate crisis that requires us to act boldly, quickly, and wisely,” said Gore. Don’t forget to RSVP to this event and to join us after the movie for drinks and discussion at d.b.a. located at 143 1st Avenue between 2nd and 3rd streets.
