Learn how a midcentury 320,000 sf mixed-use building in downtown Manhattan cut energy use more than a quarter by retrofitting its heating/cooling systems and building controls, while fully occupied. Hear how the building owner avoided upfront costs and helped finance the project through an Energy Services Agreement with a third-party investor, as well as the benefits of a 10-year performance contract that requires aggressive measurement and verification of savings.   The project’s developer, engineering consultant, and technical assurance partner will discuss in detail how the work was financed, permitted, modeled, implemented, and verified—highlighting key lessons for building owners, architects and developers interested in retrofitting existing mixed-use buildings.   Deep Energy Retrofits: NYC is a series of presentations focusing on deep retrofit strategies for existing buildings that will help achieve NYC’s 80×50 GHG reduction targets. Each session showcases a retrofit project of an existing building representing a specific New York City typology. Participants can use these case studies as tools to meet reduction targets in other existing buildings.
