As the passive house movement becomes more popular in the United States, the need for high performance windows will increase, as will the importance of supplying the required inputs for the Passive House Planning Package (PHPP.) Learn how technologies used in the design and manufacture of windows including framing materials, coatings, glazing, and shading are aiding in the upgrade of both existing buildings and new construction.  The various types of materials used for high performance windows including uPVC, thermally-broken aluminum, wood and wood-aluminum windows will be discussed. Learn about the key input parameters for the PHPP: Uframe, Ucog, SHGCcog, PSIspacer and PSIinstall, and how they influence the thermal performance of other enclosure assemblies.  Please RSVP by 5/12
