BIM is a technology that has much to offer to the real estate world. Despite the many advantages, however, spanning not just through the build process for an asset but also through the entire lifespan of the structure, the real estate industry and those industries close to it are slow to adopt change. Nonetheless, proponents embrace BIM’s technology, graphics, databases and information.   BIM creates transparency for project stakeholders, enables waste reduction and improves profitability, and the value of these contributions is not insignificant. BIM can help the architectural, engineering and construction industries to maintain a pattern of continuous improvement, especially if its insight can be ingrained at both the project and organizational levels. The buildings of tomorrow are being built today through the application of lean principles. Projections become less risky when the final product is delivered as close as possible to the timing of the market demand and to design specifications. And when changes or problems occur, BIM enables early resolution, thereby minimizing extra cost.   Sponsored by: Autodesk; Component Assembly Systems; Honest Buildings; C/F Data Systems, LLC; Vornado Realty Trust; and Construction Validation Systems, LLC   Note: There is no charge to attend this conference.   Speakers:   Safiy-Abdur-Rahman, BIM Manager, NYC Department of Design & Construction Arpan Bakshi, Sustainability Manager, YR&G George J.
