Green Apple Day of Service

September 28, 2013 All Day Last year, we launched our first Green Apple Day of Service, uniting 169,000 volunteers who collectively transformed nearly 1,300 schools and communities in all 50 states and in 49 countries through local service projects.   None of this would have been possible without the help of our USGBC members. This year we’re counting on you to encourage your organization to join thousands of volunteers on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 to improve schools and campuses around the world for the second annual Green Apple Day of Service.   When you serve as a project captain and encourage others to get involved, you show the world that the places where we learn matter, and you highlight your organization as an international leader in this effort.   The Green Apple Day of Service, which will take place on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, gives parents, teachers, students, companies and local organizations the opportunity to transform all schools into healthy, safe and productive learning environments through local service projects. Be sure to check out project ideas, read last year’s highlights and register your 2013 project today!   WHO WE ARE Green Apple is a global movement to put all children in schools where they have clean and healthy air to breathe, where energy and resources are conserved, and where they can be inspired to dream of a brighter future.
