Come hear from professionals with experience in launching a start-up company or organization in the sustainability sector and get inspired as they discuss what it takes to be an entrepreneur in the green space, some common mistakes to avoid, and how you can become a part of finding solutions to some of the world’s biggest environmental problems.

Guest Speakers:

Suzan Hernandez, founder and CEO of MamaP, has 15+ years of retail, product, brand and management experience. With a passion for blending consumer products with design, purpose and sustainability, she leads the company’s vision, as well as oversees product innovation and marketing. Prior to launching MamaP, Suzan worked at Nike in Portland, OR after graduating with an MBA from Indiana University.

Crystal Soo mentors early-stage, pre-seed start-ups with the Cleantech Open Accelerator. She leverages her experience within the energy sector to advise on business model development, product development, customer discovery, and go-to market strategy. Her experience comprises working with utilities, project financiers and developers, and regulators on technologies including EV charging and energy storage.

Michael Brusic is co-founder and VP of Engineering at Sunkeeper Solar, where he is responsible for overseeing all engineering activities related to the design, permitting, construction, and operation of solar PV, energy storage, and other renewable power generation systems. He previously served as Technical Director at Bright Power, a leading national energy services firm, where he acted as a senior technical resource for an engineering team of 30+ on projects involving solar PV, energy storage, cogeneration, HVAC, building envelope, energy management, and building controls. He holds a B.S. in Physics from Fordham University, and a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University.

Annmarie Bhola is the Founder and Owner of Enhanced Building Solutions; a training and consulting company that focuses on MEP systems in all types of buildings and facilities. They thrive on advanced systems, specializing in working directly with owners and construction companies who build hospitals, complex buildings and infrastructure. “We are committed to coaching and developing leaders in the industry by training, empowering, and creating internal champions for companies.”
