GreenHomeNYC Spring Tour – 424 Melrose Street: A Passive Multifamily Building
May 18, 2013 10AM - 11AM
Architect Chris Benedict has been designing high performance buildings in New York City for over ten years. Her latest project brings the concept of passive building design to Bushwick at 424 Melrose St.
Join
GreenHomeNYC for a tour of this 24-unit apartment building, designed to comply with the Passive House standard. Compliance with the Passive house Standard is done for the same price as typical construction by thoughtfully rethinking the infrastructure of the building. The building also has solar heated domestic hot water. The building is currently under construction, so guests will be able to tour the construction site and see the guts of the building first-hand.
Important:
Because this tour is a construction site:
All attendees must sign a release of liability form before entering the building
All attendees must agree to wear a hard hat
All attendees must wear shoes with thick soles and covered toes
