Join BE-Ex for a free lunch-and-learn seminar on Passive House – the high-comfort, ultra low energy-use building standard that is gaining momentum in the NYC market. Buildings that meet the Passive House standard use 70-90% less heating energy than conventional buildings, have excellent indoor air quality, superior comfort, and are resilient in the face of extreme weather. Given these benefits, it’s no surprise that Passive House construction is gaining momentum in NYC, and that local building codes are also moving towards Passive House-levels of performance. BE-Ex’s Passive House Primer is an engaging, one-hour seminar on Passive House fundamentals and their application in the NYC market. The Primer is ideal for property owners, managers, developers, and anyone interested in gaining a plain-English introduction to high-performance construction concepts. Architects, engineers, and design professionals new to Passive House will also benefit from this fun, introductory-level course. A light lunch will be provided. Instructor: Josephine Zurica Josephine Zurica is a Principal at Dagher Engineering, a building systems engineering firm at the forefront of sustainable design. Josephine is a Certified Passive House Consultant with extensive experience working on Passive House projects, including a mixed-use project in the Bronx that will be among the largest Passive House projects in the US once completed. Josephine has contributed to Passive House reports and is a regular speaker at Passive House conferences.
