When buildings undergo a deep energy retrofit, there are a range of systems that must be evaluated and integrated in order to improve building operations as a whole. In the case of Roosevelt Landings, a 1000+ unit complex on Roosevelt Island, this undertaking entailed millions of dollars of energy retrofits, including window and boiler replacements, submeter installations, and the addition of an on-site co-generation system.

At this lecture, participants will hear from the owner and project engineer, who will discuss the various challenges and successes of Roosevelt Landings, the largest air-sealing project in New York City. Speakers will also explore the benefits of installing a combined heat and power system, the acquisition and administration of combined funding sources, and the integration of Local Law 87 into the process.
