More livable cities mean healthy, happy occupants with access to parks, shorter commutes, and active and healthy lifestyles. But with Americans spending over 90% of their lives inside buildings, creating easy access to outside views is a critical way of making buildings and cities healthier.   While daylighting can also save energy with proper management and lighting controls, balancing whole building energy analyses with occupant health and well-being goals can yield difficult trade-offs. Recently, ASHRAE 189 voted not to include requirements for window views, largely out of concern for increasing energy use. Is this a good thing?   Join BE-Ex for a presentation by Lisa Heschong, former Principal of Heschong Mahone Group, on the supporting research and a discussion of the barriers to designing buildings with better access to views.   SPEAKERS Lisa Heschong, FIES, formerly Principal of Heschong Mahone Group (HMG) Additional speakers to be announced. Light lunch will be provided
