Tour of Brooklyn Grange Rooftop Farm

  • Where: Meet in the building lobby of Standard Motor Products. 37-18 Northern Boulevard, Queens R/M train to 36th Street stop. Exit near intersection of 36th and Northern Blvd. Walk east on Northern Blvd for one and a half blocks to a big white building. Meet in the lobby.

See how the growing urban agriculture/rooftop farming movement is improving NYC’s quality of life, advancing health, introducing new business models and creating jobs. In business since May, 2010, Brooklyn Grange has two rooftop farms in NYC selling over 40,000 lbs. of vegetables a year and has added egg-laying hens and honey bees. Tour covers farm’s genesis, daily operations, farming methods, business model basics, principles of sustainable design, environmental benefits and more. – Tickets – Tour is limited to 35 so sign up early!
