LESEC Warehouse Opens in Gowanus

February 2, 2012

Starting January 31, 2012, the Lower East Side Ecology Center (LESEC) is making responsible disposal of working and non-working electronic devices easier than ever before! Bring your unwanted electronics to LESEC’s brand new permanent e-waste collection center at 469 President Street (at Nevins Street) in Gowanus. The following working and non-working electronics can be dropped off for free by residents, small businesses (under 50 employees) and non-for-profits: computers, monitors, printers, scanners, keyboards, mice, cables, TVs, VCRs, DVD players, phones, audio/visual equipment, video games, cell phones and PDAs. All collected materials will be responsibly recycled or reused. The warehouse will be open to the public on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 10am-5pm; on Wednesdays, noon-7pm; as well as Saturdays, 10am-4pm. Come celebrate the opening of LESEC’s Gowanus e-waste collection center at a Community Reception on Saturday, February 4th, noon-4pm. You’ll have a chance to drop off your e-waste, tour the space, and learn about why LESEC is going to go beyond recycling and start reusing. Light refreshments will be provided. All are welcome.
