    1212 MLK Apartments took part in the ENERGY STAR multifamily pilot program with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). In September 2006, 1212 MLK Apartments was awarded the first ENERGY STAR rating in the country for a multifamily high-rise building.
