On March 14, 2006 the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission unanimously approved Platt Byard Dovell White's contemporary addition to Poly's Romanesque Revival Hulbert mansion in the Park Slope Historic District. The new glass and limestone structure complements the existing mansion and introduces a modern idiom to the architecture of the neighborhood. The addition houses eight new classrooms, a skylit dance studio and a gymnasium. The renovated mansion accommodates six expanded classrooms, a new dining room, expanded library, music room and administrative offices. A new entrance and playground area are also included, providing gathering and play space off the public street.
